A Review of 2023’s Best and Worst Perfumes Welcome, fragrance enthusiasts! As we embark on a fragrant journey through 2023, join me in exploring the best and the worst perfumes that we have come across so far. From captivating notes that transport us to heavenly realms or to the regrettable concoctions that fall short of expectations, this blog is your guide to the best and worst new fragrances of the year. Whether you are an experienced perfume connoisseur or a curious nose eager to discover the latest trends, let’s dive into the aromatic landscape together.
Using the KayAli Wedding Collection (velvet and silk) was nothing short of a sensory journey for me. The hype surrounding these fragrances was real, and after trying them, I understood why. While both were captivating, Silk Santal stood out as my clear favorite. Honestly, it is like having all the delightful things in a bottle – just the right sweetness, a touch of luxury, feminine vibes that are totally elegant, and an essence that feels royal. Imagine a fragrance that’s perfect for a grand occasion like a wedding but also suits your everyday moments flawlessly. The downside? It is completely sold out at the moment, and I am here, patiently waiting for it to be back in stock. Keeping my fingers crossed for a speedy restock because, believe me, this fragrance is the real deal.
Let me introduce you to the absolute showstopper – Juliette (Lust for Sun). Believe me, this fragrance has skyrocketed to the top of my favorites from the Juliette Has A Gun lineup. What makes it a standout? Well, it is not your usual tropical scent; Lust For Sun is a flawless fusion of coconut, vanilla, and floral notes that takes you to the dreamiest beach day. Picture this – a tropical summer stocked in a bottle, offering a one-of-a-kind and peaceful getaway, even on those gloomy days. Trust me on this; it is not just a fragrance; it is a transformative experience.
If you are still undecided about Black Opium, let me tell you that the parfum version is a complete game changer – and I speak from experience. It is like a vanilla explosion that is far ahead of the average fragrance journey. The warmth and sensuality it offers to the table make it a must-have, especially on cold winter days. I promise you, this parfum version is far superior than the standard eau de parfum.
As winter approaches, I am excited to wrap myself up in the snug, seductive charm of Black Opium. This scent is more than a choice; it’s a statement, a mood, and a touch of luxury all in one bottle. You won’t just wear a scent; you will own the space with it. Capture the winter moods with boldness and charm!
Now, let me rave about Gucci Flora – it is a game changer, especially the Magnolia version. I mean, no offense to the original Gorgeous Gardenia, but the Magnolia? It has my heart. Imagine Magnolia Essence, Dewberry’s Accord, with a bit of Patchouli – it is the ideal combination of sweet and mature feelings. It is absolutely my daily, can’t-live-without go-to. It gives a sophisticated touch to my aura, making me feel as if I have entered a realm of elegance every time I wear it. From office meetings to dinner parties, this one is perfect for all.
TOM FORD’s Café Rose, despite being a re-promotion from the Private Blend collection to the Signature Collection, remains an exceptional fragrance that tops this category. For me, the repackaging won because it brings this enchanting scent to more people at a lower price. As far as I can say, the fragrance remains unchanged, retaining its eau de parfum strength. Café Rose is a mix of spiciness and the edgy appeal of Femme Fatale-type rose. It will very well suit candlelight dinners, high heels, and red lips—a romantic and seductive aroma that deserves the attention.
Then comes the two new scents from Ellis Brooklyn—Apple Love and Florist. Florist is a nice, flowery fragrance with a pretty pink bottle that gives off Barbie doll vibes. It is good, but not exactly a standout in the sea of floral scents you might already have.
Now, Apple Love surprised me. Usually, I do not go crazy over Ellis Brooklyn scents, finding them pleasant but not mind-blowing. But Apple Love is different. It has become a favorite of mine. The mix of apple, peach, and a juicy burst of fruitiness is just delicious. Sure, Ellis Brooklyn scents do not last super long, but the smell is so good that I do not mind.
